  • This is slightly more at $10 from the previous low of $200; still a great price if you're in the market for this external hard drive
  • Offer valid through July 13, 2022 or while promotion/supplies last

Some modem/routers have a USB port that can be configured as a shared drive (usually pretty slow). Or if you have an old tower/computer you can setup unRAID, JBOD, or similar. You can also map a network drive to share on your computer using an internal or external drive. Qnap and Synology also make a decent NAS.
This will no longer work. Sometime after November 2021, BestBuy updated this method to exclude Easystore drives. You can see it called out in the Disclosure section.
Here is one being shucked.

As far as I heard, WD drives that are 8TB or larger are not SMR.

Nice. I desperately need a 14TB drive right now, so picked one up. $10 cheaper than the deal from the other day.

I had 44TB (3 different drives) sitting on my shelf from past sales and i finally got around to adding them to my Unraid setup. It will take some time for me to make a dent in that 44TB but there is room on my shelf now…🤔

Can I use this as a NAS for our entire household? Can it be accessed remotely?

Edit: nvm it doesn't even have an Ethernet port. Will take any recommendations you guys have!

Not sure why the downvote on this question, was just going to ask it myself. Anyone interested in shucking these should be asking also.

Price drops to 189 if you recycle an old drive.

Coupon is 10% off, one per household but I was able to recycle multiple drives and USB sticks and purchase multiple drives at 10% off back in Nov 2021. YMMV for multiple uses. Just try another store if they refuse.

This will no longer work. Sometime after November 2021, BestBuy updated this method to exclude Easystore drives. You can see it called out in the Disclosure section.

Pretty sure any WD drive over 6Tb is CMR. Easystores are usually Red or Whites when shucked.

Does any manufacturer make a hd that automatically duplicates itself on a mirrored Drive? My old Western digital My book hard drive that looks very similar to this just failed and I need to send it off to be recovered and I want to replace it with something that automatically backs itself up to a duplicate Drive or something like that. Is anything like that sold?
