Note these are 2 2AH batteries my costco still has a kit with 2 4AH batteries for 500. And that mower is self propelled (Walmart is push).

Thank you! I bought the Costco deal just last week, still haven't opened the box yet.. Came here to ask what's the difference and which is a better deal but you've already answered my question before I asked. I think I'll keep mine from Costco. 🙂

Meh, self propelled just wastes my battery IMO. The mower is already extremely light and easy to push

Bought the cost one two weeks ago. Used it recently. Used up maybe 1 1/2 of the batteries on my acre, wet long grass, uneven not so nice yard.

While it may not be an issue, self propelled is definitely a nice to have. And at 400 I would expect it on a deal

I own the self-propelled version and I rarely use the self-propel feature. It takes a few seconds to engage it when going uphill and on level surfaces it's light enough to be unnecessary. And yes, it sucks the battery more when using it, so it's not necessary IMO

Reviewers might be interested in your work. There is a reason (or reasons) for selling these at cost.

Pass. These things are horrible for the environment.
My environment is much much better because of it. Noise pollution is non-existent, and I can mow before 7am without anyone knowing.

I had this one, and sold it and bought the Costco SP with the 2 4Ah batteries. The main difference is the new model is more powerful, has a "turbo" button for max blade speed, and is self propelled, a feature I use at times with a steep terrace in my front yard. It seems a better, all round machine. It also comes with a high lift mulch blade, as well as the regular one. My main complaint with the model selling here was the lack of lift/vacuum for picking up leaves and twigs. It just rolled over them, the new model with the high lift blade installed will pick them up and mulch them. Also, the 2Ah batts just don't cut it on a high amp draw machine like this. I've had a total of 3 die and be replaced under warranty. The best deal with the Costco mower is they (Costco) extend the battery warranty to 8 years...no worries about replacing the $200, 4Ah batteries in a few years.

True for the old model selling here, the new model (Costco) is quite a bit heavier in construction and has both of the heavier 4 Ah batteries onboard, The Walmart one is lighter overall and only has one lightweight 2Ah battery onboard. Big difference when pushing, I've owned both.
