There is a newer model available (square tube handle vs round) but otherwise seems the same. I've had this model for about 3 years, and upgraded to the 4.0 Ah battery.

The only downside is that the blade doesn't have much vacuum or "lift" power compared to my gas mower. It tends to just pass over sticks and leaves rather than suck up and mulch them. I kept my gas Husqvarna/Kohler mower with a dedicated mulch blade for fall cleanup of leaves. The 4.0 Ah battery does my large yard on one charge vs changing out the 2.0 Ah batteries. I've also had to replace 3 of the 2.0 Ah batteries (under warranty). The 2.0 Ah battery is fine for the other 80V tools I have, but the mower wears them down prematurely.

This is basically the same as the Kobalt one at Lowes for $399 regular price. Costco has the higher model of Greenworks in store with self propell and larger 2nd battery for $200 more. So this is a decent deal.

I've had this mower for four years and it's been great. I greatly prefer the 4Ah batteries, though.

Seriously a great mower if you have 1/4 to 1/2 acre. Batteries will just be enough, assuming grass isn't super long or wet.

Agreed fully, I noticed that as well.

You'll notice this on other high draw tools like the 18in chainsaw, esp if you'd had the batteries for a while, they seem to struggle in high drain devices but perform fine in things like the hedge trimmer and weed whacker.

I actually noticed that from the start. If you wait too long and the grass blades have bent, it has no vacuum to pull the grass straight to cut.

Is this ok for a smallish yard with a backyard that goes uphill?

Good price, but be aware that the string trimmer is not attachment capable and the blower is the older, lower CFM model.

If you're looking for tool-only, no.
If you don't mind buying extra battery and charger, yes [amazon.com].

Depending on how steep the grade is, and how "in shape" you are it should be fine. Otherwise, wait for the Self-Propelled model to go on sale. My GF has the 60V SP model (looks identical except for the battery platform) and she loves it. You can engage the SP feature without the blade turning which makes moving from one location to another very easy.
