Maybe I don't understand the deal, but this set shows as $229 in my cart. I see they "discount" the items to account for the free battery, but ultimately you're still out the door for $229 unless I'm not catching on.

suppose to be hackable maybe? I was going to ask this too. Last time I tried it with the installation driver they just refunded the battery at the discounted price so I was still on the hook for 229.

I believe OP is saying place the order, then cancel the "free" battery to get the split price seen in cart.

Each item should appear in the cart as a separate item each at a discounted price. Many refer to this as the "hack". The hack allows you to return one of the items at the discounted price shown in the cart while allowing you to keep the other at the discounted price.

If you choose to keep both, yes the total price is $229 but you are getting a free 6.0aH battery along with the kit (for the price of just the kit itself which is $229).

I agree with that as the typical hackable method, but in this case they show up as one set for me in the cart and checkout, so it seems it is not hackable for me.

I just stepped through it again -- they show as two different items in my cart. I searched for this item -- 2598-22 - and clicked add both to the cart. I also selected in store pickup because it shows in stock for my store.
