To expand upon that a little bit, this hub will knock 15W off anything you plug into it. So if you plug in a 100W charger, you'll get 85W. But most people don't HAVE a 100W charger. So if you plug in a 60W charger, you're only going to get 45W. If you plug in a 30W charger, you're only going to get 15W, and that might not even be enough to charge your laptop while it's in use. So figure out what type of charger you have, what the wattage is, and how many watts your device needs if you're going to use Power Delivery on this thing.

Yeah it does, but it also has to power whatever you have plugged into the hub, so you won't get the full 100W to your laptop/tablet if that matters.

Edit: It looks like it provides up to 85W pass-through charging

thx. Will try it and see. The last hub deal from VicTsing did not power it at all and I wonder if there are different standards/protocols

Correct, required 100w in to give 85w pass thru.
BS terminology/marketing in my opinion to call this "100w PD" when it delivers 85 ;p

There are plusses and minuses to both, but I tend to like this unit more:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08NXV94QM/

Pros:
4k@60hz (important for me)
Ethernet

Cons:
No USB-C data (data lanes spent on video)
$11 more

Anyway, pretty much only worth it if you need 4k@60hz. Works great with my M1 MBA.

Sorry, I wish but no. Switch uses non-standard USB specs.

I'm confused. The Amazon description specifies 4k@30Hz for your hub... Is your real world experience different? Cuz that would be awesome

Too bad, thanks for the info. I thought that the charging capabilities were the only proprietary deal with the switch external connections.
