Experience greater power, range, and speed. With an internal and external lithium ion battery, ES4-800 has a top speed of nearly 15.5 mph and a range of up to 28 miles. The bar for high-performance e-scooters has been raised.

For those who can't connect to BT, if you're comfortable removing the dash, can you do that and tell me if it's a green circuit board or not? It may be possible to just remove a capacitor (C15) and regain BT functionality.

It sure is, with C15! Awesome info, I might give this a try now that I have a working one from Amazon

Are you able to update the FW fine through the Segway app and change the speed modes?

Honestly if they don't provide any info, just wait until I get mine on Friday, I'll update the wiki with a detailed post.

Well I got home and went straight to install the dash off Amazon and then realized I do not have the security bit to take the parts apart.

The one included with the scooter is a different size.

Also, the one from Amazon does not have a C15 resistor.

You need a T25, head to Harbor Freight and get a 100 pc set for like $8-9, don't forget the 20% coupon.

That is great news for everyone in this thread. Do you have access to the speed modes too? By pressing the power button twice, you should be able to switch from a red S, white S, and no S.
Still trying to figure the modes out, stuck in red s mode and not going over 15mph even though i flashed it

Already on it. I have some at work but I'm too curious to see if it works. Drove to my local harbor freight. Just got back and will do the install.

Since I will not be making any money on it not sure if its worth the risk if it gets lost or stolen during shipping.

I bought this one. All the aftermarket ones appear to be the same thing with different brands. If it doesn't work I will try to flash it or return it:https://www.amazon.com/Facaily-Bl...215&sr=8-2
Thanks for the link. Let us know if it works.

What did you use to flash it? Xiao flasher? In retail setting, Red S is ~18 mph, White S is ~15 mph, and no S is 9 mph.

If you just want it to go over 15 mph, you may just have to change the serial number, download Ninebot flasher on a Windows computer. Follow instructions below. You can use that random serial below or I believe you can just change the fourth character in your SN to a T and use that.

1. On a Windows PC with bluetooth install Ninebot-Flasher by majsi from the Microsoft Apps Store
2. Connect to the Ninebot ES2/ES4 and enter the serial number N2GTX2222C0077
3. With the cursor in the field press Ctrl-Alt-A
4. Press the Write ESC Sn button

Yes, I got this one because it was fast shipping, easy return, and one of reviewers said they had used it on a locked scooter from Walmart just like ours even though some idiot is stalking me and calling me shill.

I have not tried firmware upgrade yet - but Bluetooth and official app now connects. I will try firmware update tomorrow once I've read though and made sure it won't lock me in further by doing so.
Thank you. Are you able to lock the scooter remotely?

Ok got it hooked and up connected to the app. App is showing me the location of the scooter and saying I need an update. Will ride first before updating.

Will screw everything back and and go for a quick ride.

Update.

I did not install the official latest firmware because I was worried it may not allow me to load custom one.

I went here and used the " If you'd like to use the older design, please click HERE." option because more advanced/dangerous options are not enabled by default on that one.
https://esx.cfw.sh/#

I downloaded XiaoFlasher m365 on my Android which was linked from that website in the instructions where it tells you how you should decide on format to select.

Selected ES4 in Presets and Firmware version 1.3.9 because I checked my firmware and with the XiaoFlasher app beforehand and it was 1.3.4.
I did not want to roll back to older version (not sure if that's possible without issues) but also not want to get latest so I can easily upgrade if needed.

Set the Red S max speed to 35 which was the max allowed in the preset, left Version Spoofing checked (BTW Ninebolt app still prompted me to update even with this on) but turned off Stay on when scooter is locked option.

Clicked Submit Form to download the file locally, opened XiaoFlasher, connected, selected the file and it flashed within few minutes.

Bam - I got 21 mph if I hover it in air with full throttle ! I am big so I cannot get max speed, but what I do notice is that going uphill because of momentum I now get respectable speeds without having to zig zag at 5 mph.

All in all I wish I had bought 2 of these if I knew it was going to be this awesome for under $250 even after the dashboard cost.

Are you able to change between speed modes at all? Or is speed the only thing that changed? Honestly, going faster on these scooters is just asking for trouble, imo. They aren't that great from a safety perspective, especially with the solid rubber tires and electronic brake + not so great rear brake. There are also stories out there with the e-brake failing when trying to use it during high speeds, such as going downhill. Someone just posted on a scooter forum that they just fried a board going 15 mph. They're filing a warranty claim so at least we'll have some info now on the warranty process.
