Horrible cpu, just saying! Get the intel ultra that uses tsmc latest node as well
What do you meant by that? Ryzen 7 260 is nothing but a rebranded Ryzen 7 8845HS CPU which even today is pretty capable CPU and performance wise, it more than adequate any kind of daily work and gaming, especially with a RTX 5060.
And yes, Intel Arrow Lake HX series on the intel version is better no doubt but it is more power hungry and you have to pay couple of hundreds dollar more to get the same configuration.

When was it initially 8000 series launched again? Stop encouraging people to buy old stuff man! Just cuz it has newer gpu doesn't mean it's good you could literally get ultra 7 and 9 for not a lot more and often paired with 5070 so yeah.. also i hate intel but the things amd has been pulling since the last three years willfully trying to scam unknown buyers into thinking that they are buying 2025 stuff for 2025 price but have internals that are 2022 / 2023... atleast they don't even reduce the shitty rebranding like give me a freaking break! The greed and lack of competition from intel made them like this! Until 7000 series they were fine atleast thats what i thought so dont get me started with this bs

It is just one generation old. I understand your sentiment about rebranding their older generation processors, from both Intel and AMD...but that does not make the deal bad. Hardware does not age like we do and if you are getting an older generation Processor with enough processing power for doing everything you want, at an attractive price point, a lot cheaper than the Processors of current generation, then why not getting them?

I go by specs... that means I use notebookcheck. And this is what I saw...
The 8845HS is slightly faster...maybe 1% faster but the 7 260 is much better in efficiency. It is funny cause I got my kid a 8845HS just about 11 months ago for $435 (refurbished Lenovo Ideapad 5 14").

This is what I am all about...

It does not have better efficiency, it is literally the same chip, based on same 4 nm TSMC node. and Notebookcheck.net exactly says that.

Seems like a good deal, especially if you can get AMEX discount plus 10% cashback from that one site. But when you have to get rid of the ram if it's 2x8gb sticks, and buy 2x16gb, that adds to the cost. The Costco deal for Legion 5i with 275HX, 32GB, 1TB, RTX 5060, with 16" 500 nit, 240hz, IPS display with 100% DCI-P3, Thunderbolt 4, and 2-year warranty seems like it could be worth it for a little more.

I clicked on the link but it didn't add to cart. I added the config to the comparison chart and then clicked on build your own in order to get it into cart. I tried the discount codes and they didn't work. Only BUYMORELENOVO was automatically appearing. LEGIONSAVE10 wouldn't apply.

Same thing happened to me. Start a chat with a rep and they will help you apply manually.

Also, Bank of America customers get an additional discount code if you're a new Lenovo customer, just use link via BOA.

That Costco deal has a much better overall package with a much more powerful CPU, even if it generates more heat. Also has more RAM to start with and a larger SSD. B&H also has a better package (32GB, 1TB, 275HX) for only $100 more. In my opinion, those packages are no brainers.

I tried to make new account through BofA's link, but nothing showed up.

I do like the Costco package, because it also has a Thunderbolt port, IPS display for no burn-in worries, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut and 240hz refresh rate, but it just has a 5060 in it.. 5070 Ti is $400 more (with OLED panel) and is significantly more performance. But right now it's $400 more, at least, to get a similarly spec'd laptop with a 5070 Ti. The extra VRAM would help ensure longevity.
