~depending on the drink, straws can be better for your teeth re: decay, staining or if you have sensitivity issues
~less chance of spill, especially when driving or around electronics like laptops
~better for drinks with ice so you don't get a face full of ice
~can be necessary for people with accessibility needs
~there are three and four year olds who also need straws and that's fine

I ended up getting these in store for $15.35.... there was a huge table with a sign marked "20% off" and when I checked out the manager said the price wasn't ringing up with the discount (rang up $23.99 which I think is already the discounted price) but he manually adjusted 20% off and then I had a youth sports discount coupon (additional 20% off) which he scanned and it stacked!

Freesip - the version with both straw attached to lid as well as the spout for drinking.I should also add it is NOT the green/purple color which is the primary SD photo but the orange color.

I'm wondering why there are folks older than 2 who use straws?

The point of this is to have options. Also, if you're triggered by the idea of adults and older children using straws, you've never been to a restaurant in your life and live in absolute terror from the real world. I feel for you.

Great for driving and drinking water with very loose straw draw. Don't have to unscrew and tip over a bottle to drink. Loose suction is good for gum health.

Being a high school teacher, I can tell you that most kids care just as much about having the cool colors as the fact that it is an Owala.

My point is if you are a parent and getting this for your kid, you would be better off spending the extra 5 or 6 dollars and getting the color that your kid really wants rather than just running out and buying this one just becuase it is on sale.

24oz one yes. Honestly the free sip sway is better for cup holders than any of these.

I ended you getting the free sip sway 40oz. It's a hair taller than this 24oz and holds more. It's also a decent armrest if you don't have one in the car.
