This is a FANTASTIC guitar. If a Gibson ES-335 is too pricey for you ($3500 new), this is a worthy contender at the price.

why does Eastman have a 1.72" nut width. gimme that 1.75" ffs. do people not play finger style on these things?! I'd love to get a martin but that nut comes at a premium...but hey, that's also just the life of being a male. gotta chase that nut.....width.

I can hear my poorly-played QOTSA riffs now. What a nice guitar.

Looks like they also have it in "classic" for the same price: https://www.sweetwater.com/store/...ar-classic

I didn't know there was a difference "red" and "classic".

I've owned this guitar. I'm pretty sure I bought it for $700 used. It was great but the neck has an unusual shape. You should hold it before buying. Secondly the Kent Armstrong pickups were pretty good but I wanted to swap them out, only to find that the pickup cavities were for "short leg" pickups only, thus excluding the vast majority of available pickups.

One trait on many Eastman's is the oddly angled tuners trying to follow the curve of the headstock rather than being straight and in-line with one another.

This is on the T386: https://media.sweetwater.com/m/pr...f981c3fb6c

Compared to their T184MX: https://media.sweetwater.com/m/pr...d0edb4984a

Their T59/TV semi-hollow is an outstanding guitar but they also sport those angled tuners. Might seem like a small thing to some but that would never stop bothering me.

The "classic" finish is more reminiscent of a hand-rubbed varnish that accentuates the wood grain more.
I recently purchased an older T64 (more Casino than 335) in a similar finish and absolutely love it.

From what I can tell the red is a brighter red and the classic is a darker red. They seem to have the same specs.

There's no better semi-hollow at this price, I've owned them all and sold them all except my Eastman semi-hollow (T486). The ebony fretboard is so smooth and the craftsmanship is top notch. This is an unbelievable price for this guitar. You need to handle it to see what I mean. If there're guitar stores carrying it near you, check it out.

imagine being actually fun at parties.

if you don't know there's a distinct diff between the 1.72 and 1.75 nut widths for fingerstyle, then say you just can't play finger style. or are at least bad at it, at best.

Don't worry. My fingers are long, thing, almost gaunt. But if have FAT (clubbed) fingertips. I feel you bro Smilie - I just "make it work" aka: struggle
