amazon "renewed" can be a bit of a crapshoot as opposed to oem refurbs / open box but is usually pretty good, returns probably easy (90 day)

I bought a used PS5 Pro when Amazon had them on sale for around $500. it was packaged terribly. The console was thrown in the PS5 box with no packaging, which was thrown loosely in a cardboard box with no packaging. It was missing a stand and HDMI cable, and the controller was dirty. console itself looked perfect though and worked when I tested it, but I ended up returning it for the reasons mentioned. Return process was a breeze though, so worth a shot in my book.
