I second this. I take these rags and soak them in a bucket filled with water and dish soap for a few days right after I get them. The water is usually a deep, blood-red color when I empty it.

Can always just take them to a laundromat and put them in one of the washers before first use. Probably would hang dry them instead of putting them in the dryer.

Also, real question: why get these instead of using old t-shirts/jeans/pants (granted you may have to cut those up, but this is slickdeals)?

Its easier to just get 150 rags rather than save all the old shirts over the years. But, if you have 150 rags worth of old clothes to cut up, I'd just do that.
