It's a very good deal at 1500. It's a stellar deal at 1350.

CPU 310 gpu 750 psu 150+ (platinum 1000w!). Mobo is a z890 200+ 240mm aio cooler 50+.

Cons:
Ram is cheap, slow, and really should be 32gb. It's a dell and they have had some reliability issues in the past.

This is a true 1440 / 4k system and with the psu, the gpu can be swapped out in the future. Not quite perfect, but very very good.

Has anyone got the 10% new email code to work? Glad to see this post doesn't bake that discount into the listed price, but people keep talking as though they are getting the discount while everyone who has actually tried does not. Not on the site. Not over the phone. Not over chat. Would love to hear a success story if someone has one.

This is a pretty good deal. Usually Dell's customizations aren't worth it but I had a look and here are some thoughts:
  • RAM upgrades are super expensive. You probably want to buy 32GB+ of DDR5 elsewhere;
  • The CPU upgrade to a Intel Core 9 Ultra 285K at +$300 is not a terrible price. The existing CPU is a little weak (IMHO)
  • $50 to upgrade the 1TB SSD to 2TB isn't a bad option
  • $50 to add liquid cooling is also not a bad option
  • The PSU looks to be pretty good quality, particularly for this price

Yeah it's annoying that those posts are advertising that the 10% welcome code works but the same price from all the alienware aurora posts are attainable with student/teacher discount. I was able to get (in my cart with edu discount):the Alienware i7 + 5070 ti for $1350the Alienware i7 + 5080 for $1500additionally I chatted with an agent last night to see if I could get them to apply a discount and then hopefully I could stack my edu discount on top but it looks like they just give you a quote via email and you can't add anything additional.last night via chat/quote I was able to get via email a quote for the i5 + $5070 ti and liquid cooler (extra $20) for $1367I'm assuming a similar discount could be had with this model. Hope this gives you some hope.

edit: had incorrect processors and price for the 5080 config

Same product, but here you can select liquid cooling without the AlienFX lighting for +$20 and not $50

FYI, if you EVER want to use the XMP feature, ONLY the DELL branded memory ram WORKS. Dell configured the BIOS somehow to only recognize their own branded memory ram. To note, Dell branded ram is manufacturer by Kingston but still wont work if you buy the RAM directly from Kingston. I bought Patriots and Kingston directly and still did not work then ultimately I overpaid the ridiculous price directly from DELL and the XMP feature finally work.

Been hearing that the recent area 51 model is less proprietary as AW has been in the pass. Does the same apply to this model?

How did you get the 5080 for $1500? I see it as $450 more than 5070TI
