I bought this kit as my first delve into m12 and this stupid screwdriver is the best furniture putter together ever. It has a clutch on it, so you can be pretty specific on how tight things get.

Some things to consider from another...
Keep in mind that there are three versions of the M12 1/4" hex screwdriver:

2401 - this deal, least amount of torque (175 in-lbs) and speed (500 RPM) using a brushed motor. This is the heaviest of all models Biggest complaint was too slow and not very powerful.

2402 - brushless motor (FUEL) lots of torque (375 in-los) and speed (2 settings; 0-400 and 0-1,700 RPM). Also included a drill and driver setting. Because it's brushless is lighter (2.0lbs) and batteries last longer in it. People complained that this model was too powerful.

2406 - brushed motor yet the lightest of all (1.8los).
Good amount of torque (275 in-lbs) and speed (2 settings; 0-400 and 0-1,500 RPM). Considered the
"goldilocks" of all the M12 screwdrivers. Latest model released and rarely goes on sale.

Milwaukee M12 screwdrivers are a hybrid of the their M12 drill (as it includes the torque clutch settings) and their impact driver (as it includes the 1/4" hex chuck).
They allow for easy, one handed bit insertion or removal and are a good tool for all around DIY work or delicate woodworking/furniture assembly due to their enhanced torque and speed control. Many consider the M12 driver their go to driver vs the standard M12 drill/impact drivers that are available.

There is also the M12 "Installation 4-1 " drill/driver which comes with several different drill heads (1/4" hex, 3/8 chuck, inline and offset heads). That tool works well when installing cabinetry due to the many different interchangable heads. It has a brushless motor with great torque (300 in-lbs) and speed control (2 speeds 0-400 and 0-1,600 RPM). This tool was recently released (2021) but is not very compact due to his D shaped design vs. the typical pistol design of most drills.

Bought after the many recommendations. Honestly found that its nothing that the installation driver can't do? I found that its just less capable in speed (500 rpm vs 1600, which is very noticeable on daily use fastening fine thread machine screws) and power (170 vs 300 in lbs). The installation driver has clutch and high-low speed settings (screwdriver no speed adjustment), and of course the 4 heads. It's much more flexible for a wider range of tasks but of course the price reflects this too.

Anyways not a knock to this deal or post at all. This is a pretty good price. Just wanted to share my experience for those who already have the installation driver.

you can get it for $99 by selecting the screwdriver kit separately and adding the free 2-battery pack https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-M12-12V-Lithium-Ion-Cordless-1-4-in-Hex-Screwdriver-Kit-with-T... [homedepot.com].

Also this ends up pro-rated to $49.50 for the screwdriver kit and $49.50 for the two 1.5Ah batteries.

I have the previous version of this screw gun. Before screw gun I was using the drill while it works but using a dedicated screw gun is definitely more for the specific job. No regrets having another tool, there are occasions where this screw gun has a plus up - i.e smaller chuck, and not as bulky/weight more well balanced... at this price point for 4 batt is really great deal.... hope this helps...

This is a great screwdriver with clutch but this many batteries is pointless. For larger jobs that require power you'll be wanting to actually use the impact instead of the screwdriver. I found this great when working on computers, putting furniture together, assembling things, etc. You get a lot of control instead of a lot of power which is what you probably need 90% of the time. It's hard to get through a single 1.5 AH battery doing those kinds of tasks though.

That being said - I learned how to use my impact for those jobs that require less power and eventually stopped using the screwdriver and gifted it to my father in law although I really do like this screwdriver.

I used the impact to assemble a toy for my daughter and snapped a screw, so I could see why one would use this instead of the M12 FUEL lol. 4x battery would be sweet for me tho, since I replaced all the crappy sealed batteries in Power Wheels with the lithium M12 batteries

Got this in a bundle and it's my indoor don't want to go to the garage driver. I wouldn't pay $100 for it even with 4 tiny batteries though.

M12 has some great tools but the lighting is really lacking, especially this one

Same... I got this as my first battery tool as a newly wed and it was really helpful assembling furniture and hanging miscellaneous things. The chuck is a great feature - maybe other brands have something similar, but this is how I got hooked on Milwaukee... lolI still leave this in my grab bag today.

wow had no idea there was three... thanks a bunch, makes sense that the 2401 was such a let down. probably saw the rave reviews from 2406 and I just didn't realize theres these diff models. Appreciate it ! Guess I'll set an alert for one hehe
