Been 11 years since I've purchased a laptop and I'm due. Which is the better computer, this Asus or the Lenovo Yoga?

That yoga is trash tier. 226v cpu should be $450 tops.

I would add a bit more and get the MacBook Air. It will last and retain value for much longer

This is a great deal for a little powerhouse laptop for students and for personal use.
Thanks, OP.
I got it for $200 more earlier this month. Now I for the price adjustment.

I am not a fan of Lenovo or HP.
Asus is a good laptop, which I recently bought from Costco.
Similar product is LG Gram.
Both these laptops have a LONG battery life per charge.
Wait till Black Friday to score a better deal.

If you want a two in one with an oled screen that's with a current gen processor this is about the best deal I've found. I'd be all over this if I hadn't gotten a yoga 9 a couple of months ago.

"Trash tier" aka, on average < 10% lower CPU performance and < 15% lower GPU performance than the 256V. Performance variation among 256V implementations are going to vary more than that.

225u is a worse option all the way around. 10% worse single threaded CPU, about even multithreaded CPU, and ~ 50% worse GPU performance.

The vivobook Top is way softer than the zenbook top which is very hard.

It might be a metal paint or maybe it's thin metal, but the bottom is 100% plastic, whereas on the zenbook it's all metal.

The metal zenbook bottom tray design isn't great though imho. It relies alot on glued in plastic clips at the back.

You always want a laptop with a metal body. Hinges are metal, but when attached to a plastic body, the hinges eventually fail. Given that you will likely keep this purchase for a while, invest in something that is well built. No plastic body. HP Omnibook Ultra, Omnibook X are excellent choices.
