I bought this deal last week when it was $39.99. These are honestly really great little cameras for the price. I like them because they are RTSP/ONVIF compliant so I can use their feeds with many different types of software. They are a no brainer for less than $10 each.

Pretty sure these are the older ones that don't outline the motion, just FYI. I'm slowly replacing my older kasa/tapo cameras with the newer ones because they do that. Also highly recommend paying more to get the kind that rotates, just more convenient. If you're just wanting a basic can these are fine

these definitely DON'T move at all. still they're great for what they are, cheap secure indoor cams that aren't locked own to a subscription model (that last point makes them more than worth it)

Yup they just work well. SD card recording can be valuable. They also integrate with Home Assistant via Tapo: Cameras Control and send info like motion detected, so in theory you could set it up to alert you if, say, no motion was detected for a while across all cameras.

Damn, the only thing stopping me is that these aren't USB powered. I have a few spots that USB is the best way since I can run a very long cable to it (or already have one in place).

That might indeed burn it down! But also doesn't solve the desire for a ~15' cable. Maybe I just need to run some Ethernet and get some real cameras with PoE.

I would think twice about Tapo cameras. They do look great, both physically and the video quality. That said, I have tried about 5 models and they always have connectivity and reliability issues. Interestingly, the reliability has gotten significantly worse with firmware updates. Have tried them on a variety of network environments. Tapo customer service hasn't been able to fix. Not worth the hassle and I will never buy again, which is unfortunate considering the price....2 cents.

Are you sure it is not your network? I have been running their Kasa cameras and Tapo cameras for a few years now and have yet to have a single problem with them.

Agreed - I would assess network issues. I use an Asus mesh system and all 5 of my Tapo's are rock solid. Fast loading on Google devices and iOS apps. They're all the 2k models, so I can't speak to these 1080p cameras, but for the price, I'm tempted to grab these just to mess with!

interesting you say that because i've been phasing out all my wyze cameras because of connectivity issues and replacing them with Tapo which are working great lol.

I strongly suspect interference. I had same issue to discover it was Eufys crappy home base spewing 2.4 ghz noise. Unplugged and cameras perfect now.
