I am ashamed to say how many hours this past week I've been reading and watching videos about Steelcase/Herman Miller/Haworth.

Steelcase has a 14 day return period, these Steelcase chairs are new chairs that were returned within those 14 day period be it because of small issues with the finish (Grade B chairs) or buyers' remorse (Grade A chairs). The sad reality is, these chairs used to cost what Crandall sells them for now but all chair makers have increased their chair price by nearly double.

In the end, I bought the Leap V2 because it being the most popular chair, businesses like BTOD sell you the rear and bottom cushion in case yours wears down in the future. The chairs have 12 year warranty, so mechanically they will last a long time. But if your cat or your kid messes your fabric up, you can buy the replacement without having to send the chair back.

Another one I was looking at was the Hayworth fern which have been discounted by an even bigger margin than Steelcase (35% instead of 20% before the extra 20% discount) but the Haworth only have 2 year warranty and the most suggested option "digital knit back and NO headrest" isnt currently available. If you end up buying a Fern and want a headrest... buy one without a headrest and buy this custom headrest separately https://atlasheadrest.com/product...fern-chair

Any recommendations from the chair gurus out there?

The Leap is a truly excellent chair. Some people really like the Gesture as well, but I think it's hard to go wrong with Leap for most people.

Are these a good deal? Or worth waiting for something better?

I would personally recommend getting one from Facebook marketplace and then buying new cushions from Crandall for a few hundred dollars. Or buy a refurbished Leap from Crandall or BTOD for $600. But this isn't bad if you really want a brand new chair. Not many deals.

best bet, look for a local used office supply store near you. a lot of companies close locations and sell off their furniture for super low prices. probably can get these chairs for more than half the listed price if you are patient and look around

There's no place to apply the code. It also looks like the price reflects the discount

depends on your setup. i use a sit/stand desk and been using zody for about a year now. it's not overly flashy but it's it's really comfy and has a "perch" mode where you have a halfway sitting, halfway standing posture where you can just lean your butt over it at an angle. highly recommend.

Yes there is, if you go to your cart and hit checkout... the next page will have the payment info on the left and the discount code box on the right. Once you add the code, it will stay even if you remove that chair from your cart and add another.

EDIT: Also, make sure you are browsing for Steelcase and Haworth Returns (they have a partnership which chair returns get sent to them for sale). They also have a section for refurbished which would give you 10% off only.

The $550 Factory Return Steelcase Amia I bought from them last year is the squeakiest chair I've ever owned in my life. When I'm on a Teams call at work I have to sit extremely still or it sounds like a door in a haunted house. (Yes, I take it apart every few months to lubricate, but it always returns.)

My 25 year old dot com Aeron remains the undeafeated champ of chairs in my house--still going strong as the best chair I've ever owned with tight fabric and no squeaks despite zero lubricant.

I figured it out, I had to click "View Cart" to apply it. Hitting checkout prematurely is what prevents you from adding a promo code.

There are some people on FB that do office demo work and then sell the stuff they salvage fairly cheap but if youre on in a major city it might be harder to find deals like that.

you have to get lucky to find a chair from Facebook/craigslist because you don't know if they've bought that chair refurbished from companies like Madison seating who refurbish chairs with aftermarket parts and aftermarket cushion. I've seen a lot of complaints on Reddit about a chair that ended up being their experience with a non OEM chair.

Any recommendation for really good lower back support? I've been sliding down in my chair and putting my feet up lately to get relief, kind of like a zero gravity chair.
