Weird how the top is split in four pieces. Mine came as a single slab from Flexispot about two years ago (Bamboo). I guess they have even more options now. FWIW, the desk has been great, supporting a 80+lb 65-inch TV , soundbar, many external Hard Drives, and a Desktop PC mounted to the bottom-side of the desktop surface.

If one of the 4 pieces gets a corner damaged in shipping; it's more profitable for the seller to apply a minor discount, rather than take the whole shipment back as a greater loss. Most manufacturers will transition from the more sustainable, expensive bamboo, to MDF to increase profit margins.

As usual; follow the money/Capitalism.

It's probably much cheaper for them to ship the table top in smaller pieces.

Flexispot generally makes good stuff. I got their "E1" electric sit/stand desk frame about a year ago for $50 and put a 'butcher block' wood top from Home Depot on it for about $110 total. The up/down controls are nice, it's pretty quick, and quiet. No regrets.
Also got one of their adjustable bed frames a couple years ago. Use it to adjust to an 'upright' position and back to flat again almost every night, and no issues. No regrets.

This [a.co] is a viable alternative if you are willing to compromise on some width. The table top is split in 2 pieces vs 4. Sanodesk is a sub brand of flexispot. The box mine got shipped in was branded Flexispot. Also to note, the buttons on my desk seemed to be reversed so pushing up or down buttons did the reverse. I had back and forth on their support team to see if it was an issue on my end but in the end they just shipped me a new desk and let me keep the original one. Been using it for about a year without issue. I've been using the stand up height more frequently with a walking pad I have. It is a little slow going up and down but otherwise works.
