AA batteries kind of suck for most mice that take them because you can't use NiMH. (Standard NiMH batteries are only 1.2v and lots of mice that take AAs start freaking out after only a couple days since they're undervoltage straight off the charger and only get weaker from there)

I also choose no mouse rather than a micro USB, but I need a keyboard deal now the tab key is worn out. But full RGB or nothing.

it's a weight issue, the 2 AA's will be about the weight of a good ultralight mouse that charges via cable.

At this price, it's a no brainer even it uses micro-usb for charging. I really doubted before I got this mouse, because I used to use weighted mouse like G502 where you can add weights to your liking. But once I got used to it, I wouldn't come back. But it also comes with some downside, you can't use unifying receiver if you already have a Logitech wireless keyboard, this mouse requires a dedicated reciever since it has much much higher refresh rate than ordinary mouse.
