I am new to Min-PC's and looking to replace my 10 year old dinosaur dell computer that has an I7 860 CPU. It's really struggling with multiple apps running and chrome tabs open. Opening apps taxes FOREVER. I mainly use the computer for general computer tasks, light video/graphic editing, and normal Excel, Word items.

I am using it with Jellyfin to stream videos on my computer to my TV's throughout my house

No Gaming, but for my budget at around $300, I needed 1TB, 32GB of Ram, and if I do more than light video editing, the 6800H would come in handy. I plan on adding in a 2nd HDD in the future, so I have everything needed backed up automagically.

Beelink SER5 MAX Mini PC

1TB PCle4.0 SSD, extra slot for expansion

Beelink limits the TDP on these things which is definitely false advertising. 28w limit, but what's worse is the fact that combined GPU and CPU loads throttle to 15W limits, even with cool temps. Terrible practices. You can read more about it on their forums.

This is a common practice across all mini PC's. The cooling isn't great so they lower the TDP to compensate. If you can increase the TDP in BIOS you'll get thottling, freezing, or crashes. This is why it's never a good idea to buy a new model. At least this one has been around a while and people have reported their experience of it.

I have the ser 5 Pro with the 5600H that has a lower quality GPU and it had been running for 6months strait running workflows 24x7. No issues and very little power usage when compared to other devices.

It can easily run roblox and other kids game without breaking a sweat at 1080p. I even brought it on a trip once so the kids could play Palworld and it was a little slow but definitely playable.

This has been this price for a couple weeks now. It's a good price but I decided to keep waiting for a mini pc with power delivery over USB-C (this does not support it) so I can do single cable operation on my monitor.

Really want a high end Kodi box, thinking this might be the ticket. Anyone ever try running linux-based Kodi on one of these beelinks?

no affiliate. I just purchased after looking for one.please post if you have a link to one that's cheaper, cuz I'm all about paying less for more or the same. this one has a 1 TB hard drive and includes a Windows 11 pro. most of the ones there are 319 or less did not have Windows 11 or 500 GB hard drive at least when I was looking for one

Well, I did not know this. I was looking at 6800u and saw this for same price. What would be a good alternative CPU/GPU combo in this price range ( or cheaper)? 5825u? 5600h 5500u?I don't want to pay for performance I am not getting. Thanks!

I have a 4TB in mine, granted it's a different model but same brand/mobo.

Ah sorry about that. Yeah $319 was 512GB.

There's currently an issue with the TDP sharing when the GPU is in use that limits the CPU to 400 mhz.

This seems like a decent deal for this spec of mini PC. Not sure why people complain it isn't a barn burner gaming machine. These are basically a laptop chip in a smaller form factor. Don't expect to push it to its limits and you will be fine. For general use this would be all many people need. If you want to play AAA games, or do video editing get a real desktop.
Been using an intel version for years and it works outstanding for what I use it for.

How come there are so many sellers of Beelink on Amazon but their prices are very similar? Are they just fronts for Beelink?
