I bit myself, wanting to upgrade from a 8GB 4060. What do you guys think? Deal or no deal?

Cancelled the 5070 for $550. I just think it's a power hog + less memory, even if it doesn't really make a difference on most games.

I've been eyeballing one of these for LLM usage with AI and just fun projects locally.

not sure it's worth the boost in terms of memory bandwidth versus a 3060 12 GB.

I guess the newer gen has fp4 support...I'm incredibly conflicted.

I chose the 7800X3D over the 9800X3D just to save $110 and the cost of powering a more powerful CPU. Seems reasonable to me.

FYI, the card is at MSRP, and only $50 more than the 8GB version, which itself is only $80 more than the vanilla 5060. It's a nice trade off IMO, upfront savings combined with power savings.

Sold out too BTW. Come next-generation tariffs, MSRP will seem like a steal.

What I'm hearing too, useful for AI. IMO, the 5070 12GB is really only intended for the gaming enthusiast on a budget. More powerful than the 5060 Ti, which is why it has to be hardware limited to 12GB, else there would be less demand for the 5080.

Just checked Amazon, and it's sold out btw, which kinda makes me feel better about buying. Also unsure just how hyped people are about these cards and their true value, and if price drops are expected, and if it's even going to make a difference with next-generation tariffs right around the corner.

-7 post rating 😂 Almost forgot why I never post here. farking mafia here. Inbreds. Don't tell them I said that. 🫡

OP, why did you cancel 5070? All 5060's and Ti's uses PCIe 5.0 X8 only even older board will use PCIe 4.0 X8 and PCIe 3.0 X8. 5070 and higher cards uses x16 lane.

When Nvidia designed this card, they had this in mind. When I purchased this card, I had this in mind. Benchmark numbers don't magically change after realizing it's only x8 capable.
