Does the 12 months start at purchase from said vendor or at redemption of the code?

It's at redemption. But they don't stack anymore. So if you have a current subscription, it will start a new one that runs concurrently

Mine stacked earlier this week.

I can confirm this too. I reached out to Adobe support and they said you have to wait until the subscription ends to use the code now.
They also said that the difference was Adobe Express and that's why you cannot stack them anymore.

Adobe is terrible to its customers. Pirate it and save yourself the hassle.

Would this scenario still be possible?
- Wait until the last month of a subscription
- Cancel subscription (I believe I read if you try any earlier then they hit you with the cancellation fee)
- Once it's finished, then add the redemption code to start a new 12 month period
Worst case is I can also start a brand new account. I don't use the cloud storage, and any presets I can save and import on my own.

I was about to jump on this, but my current CC Photo 1TB plan doesn't end until August 2026 (and has $19.99 monthly otherwise) billing... not sure I want to risk trying to apply it or holding on to the code that long. Found this on Adobe's website (https://community.adobe.com/t5/ac...p/15343212) that helps highlight the issue (with no resolution). Sound like waiting to apply after current sub runs out is the best bet.

This plus Typogram Studio to cover the type front, should be a good creative setup for most photography work!

I always assumed they didn't stack. This is what we did with my wife's account last time around with this Newegg deal. Be sure to cancel and keep track of that confirmation. She had a day or 2 gap before we redeemed the code and her installation worked fine with the new license.
Also be careful for those that are on subscriptions because you may think you are on a monthly subscription you can cancel at any time, but there are yearly subscriptions paid through monthly installments. There was a lawsuit around that sketchy wording, and I'm not sure if their sub pages were ever updated. Check your sub carefully before cancelling.
