This is a great deal. If you don't mind stepping down from the RTX 5070, this PC has a faster CPU, double (and faster) the RAM and double the storage vs. the current FP deal. Free 2nd-year warranty too.

Is there a current desktop with a 5060 super, 32GB, 2tb selling for under $1000 now?

Can't compare future deals or tech that may come out. This is an extremely good value for a well rounded starter gaming pc. It will play anything at 1080p and a lot stuff at 1440p.

A 5060 Super hasn't been leaked up to this point and is entirely unconfirmed. The only cards you can expect at this point are:

5070 Super (18 GB)
5070 Ti Super (24 GB)
5080 Super (24 GB)

The specs have been leaked for these. Mainly just the TDPs going up a bit, but the 5070 Super gets 6400 CUDA cores instead of 6144 cores for the 5070 non-Super.

The 5060 will run any AAA in 1080p no problem. It will run most games at 1440p. The computer has a 600w power supply so you could upgrade to say a 60xx later. For under $1000 you're getting a lot of computer. 5070 more so the 5070ti is more future proof but also more money. This is a very well rounded computer with a good processor, 32GB RAM and a big 2 TB hard drive.

this is a good deal on a technicality of having a 2tb ssd. in terms of what you could (*should) build for this price, it's not a good deal.

"great deal" prebuilds at a minimum have to match what you could build at the price.
I am not sure if they should match. If it's pre-built it might be cheaper as the company can get cheaper parts in mass. On the flip side there is a cost to building it, drives, installing windows etc.

If you build your own you are probably paying a bit more premium for "better" name brand parts.

If you went to Microcenter and tried to build the out by parts cost would be very similar.

Absolutely perfect for a casual gamer getting started into the hobby. Or someone like me who only has an hour or two a week to play and doesn't need to waste $2k-$3k on a machine that barely gets used.

Can you elaborate on what I should build for this price?

right, because its cheaper for the company to build prebuilds, because they get parts in mass. it should be cheaper to buy a prebuild then to build yourself.

and yes, if you tried to build this exact build, it would match this price. but this is not a smart build. i think in order for it to be a great deal it would have to be better then the "smart build". if its just matching, its an "ok deal".

maybe the only redeeming factor to this being a good deal is that its from costco. superior return policy and warranty.

i guess in that case it can be looked at as a good deal, provided the person buying it is unable to build it themselves.

honestly, i take back what i said. this is a good deal. i tried throwing together a few builds, and it came out to a similar price. but it wasnt really better then this. if you are ok with this gpu, this is a great deal. you can build this for cheaper (or something better for the price) if you stick around for a few weeks, collecting parts when they go on sale from multiple storefronts. but thats a massive hassle, and many more things can go wrong.

my bad. get this.
