seems like a good deal with the i9 and other specs. I've been looking for an i7 in the sub-400 range but most deals seem to be i5 or AMD equivalent or high spec AI builds.

It's one of the most affordable i9-12900H-based mini-PCs available from a reputable brand.

For the same price, go with AMD devices. Intel tends to be slower

Any proof to back that up, or are you just saying random things?
12900H is not only notably faster than the 6900HX, but also comparable to 8845HS as well. The latter is newer and has better integrated graphics, but the 12900H is still more powerful in raw power and would be a better choice if battery life isn't an issue.
Also, please provide links to similar spec'd and priced Ryzen-equivalent deals.

First review says that it doesn't actually have Thunderbolt.

I can't find any reviews done by a real person to confirm... That's a dealbreaker, to me, if true. You can always return it.

I've personally bought a GMKTec (IIRC) mini pc that said it had Thunderbolt, but didn't. Confirmed through customer support, even though the specs and images showed otherwise.

The middle of the amazon product description, the slide on size overview, keep scrolling it you will see Thunderbolt 4 information

Yeah, the reviewer says that the listing is incorrect.

Same with the mini pc (different brand) that I bought. Says everywhere that it has Thunderbolt, but it didn't. I even asked customer support for the mini pc and they said it doesn't. So I know it can happen.
