Ethoxyquin is a synthetic antioxidant approved in the US for use in animal feed and as a color preservative in chili powder and paprika, though it is not approved for human food in general. Developed as a pesticide, it works by preventing fat rancidity in pet food and preserving color in spices. While considered safe by the FDA when used according to regulations, concerns persist regarding potential health effects, particularly in animal products.

I can assure you first hand that it definitely contains ethoxyquin because on the 4 bottles I bought a month ago on the last deal on this the label shows ethoxyquin as an ingredient.
