Nice to see Switch 2 games going on sale already, looking forward to holiday sales with a new system.

This is a download. No physical media with this. Wish they would stop doing this.

You can't do anything about it. Nintendo don't even care for those physical game enthusiasts

At least the game key cards are technically 'physical' and 'resellable', yes I know they're worthless once the game/server is shut down but typically you've got a number of years until that happens. And even at that sometimes it's just the games online service that's ended and you can still download and play the game offline.

The Amazon version says Switch 1, the link to the one on Target is Switch 2.
Is there any difference? Free update?

This is a code in box, not even a game-key card.

So this isn't resellable.

Speaking of servers being shut down, even the 3DS and Wii eShop still allows you to download the games tied to your account. Sure, one day way in the future long after we've figured out how to obtain these games otherwise, you may no longer be able to download them officially.. but disc and even bit rot is real and already happening with some DS games. So much for physical media meaning you'll always be able to play the game..

Apparently they're separate (meaning buying a Switch 2 version means it won't run on a Switch 1, and buying a Switch 1 version means it won't look as good on Switch 2) BUT if you buy the digital Switch 1 version you can get the Switch 2 version (digitally) for free. There is no upgrade path for physical Switch 1 version.

SlickDeals needs to clearly distinguish physical Switch 2 games in the title as a game cartridge, key card, or code in a box. This is not a comment against the OP.

In fairness, this is on retailers/publishers too. There's no way on the product page to distinguish this as a key card or code-in-a-box - even the text on the product image is a bit ambiguous (as key cards are still downloads, no?) and there's wrong info in the Q/A section.
