The issue might be bit rate or internet speed. I have had issues with it looking terrible and then I pause it for a minute and the quality kicks in. I think it defaults to the lowest speed/quality to save on their bandwidth

It wasn't unwatchable until I saw how good it looked on Peacock on the same TV.
