You buy the bundle with the surge impact, wait till you receive it (or buy it in store/store pickup), and right after bring the surge impact back for a refund, you will get the impact wrench for $138 and the rest will be refunded.

Yep. This thing's been displaced by the Gen2 M12. No idea why they didn't release a new gen M18 compact at the same time. Still haven't. They could easily manage 550 or better in this form factor.

To cover all your bases: Gen2 M12 for all low/medium torque applications + the 1/2" high torque for 'everything else'.

This was already mediocre when it was released when compared to the Gen 1 M12 Stubby. Gen 2 just obliterates it. Only get if you're all in the M18 ecosystem.

this worked no prob for my basic lug removal for brakes and other basic car maintenance stuff for the past few years. i did grab the m12 fuel stubby as well a couple weeks ago from the HD deal just to have it.

i'd say if your use case is basic maintenance and you have other m18 tools you can use the battery on then go for it. i'm going to grab whatever tool has the full battery when the time comes to needing an impact
