Paid clickbait.
1. It's been this price for ages
2. It's a staff thread
3. They purposefully didn't put Microcenter in the title because they know that the masses who aren't near an MC location would not click on this thread.

Or just spend $60 more for the 9700X bundle ($430). I am most likely going to go for the 9700X as it seems to have the best balance between gaming and productivity performance.

Got this last month but was $20 cheaper. Solid build with no issues.

It's a great CPU, but just remember that this CPU runs very hot with PBO enabled, even with a 360mm AIO, as it'll boost as high as it can as long as it doesn't hit 95°c, but you can get the temps down within the pbo settings without really any loss in performance, and you won't have to hear your fans running at 100% all of the time. There are plenty of videos on YouTube tho for configuring the PBO settings of this CPU if you aren't familiar with doing it.

That's my thought, I bought this bundle around this price 2 frickin' years ago.

Forgive my ignorance but after a little googling is PBO just a fancy word for overclocking? If so then that's not a concern as I don't use that. I have this bundle and my fans run higher than I like, but it hasn't been an issue, my CPU hasn't went past 80 as far as I've noticed.

pbo is basically like a power curve..you reduce the voltage curve to the cpu, which makes the cpu run cooler and maintain higher clocks.
you should try it, its easy, just set it to -10 in bios at least (most start with -20 but some cpus arent stable with that)..
your temps will be lower

its basically just amd's auto overclocking feature that's automatically enabled in the Bios of most AMD motherboards. It allows the CPU to basically boost as high as it can if its not thermal throttling, which makes the 7700x run pretty hot, but you can go into the PBO settings within the bios to do an undervolt, or you can even set limits to wattage or temps as well. Just watch some PBO settings videos on youtube to help you out before just going into it blindly. This isn't limited to just the 7700x either, all am5 CPUs respond well to an undervolt in the pbo settings

Good to know! I hear undervolting can be good for GPUs but didn't know about CPUs. I don't know of any games I have that are throttled by the CPU, I'm pretty happy with the 7700x as well. Especially the price I got it with this deal 2 years ago. There was a promo for a new store opening up and the legend of a manager at the Minneapolis store honored it because they mispriced it on the website.

I'll check it out then! I'll have to see if there are any upgrades to my bios before I start. I am not keen on manually finding the ideal setting... no speed boost is worth a sacrifice in stability, but if it can auto manage it and stay stable I would be happy with that.
Although my CPU has yet to be the bottleneck in any games.
