I've been thinking about getting Mac MIni M5 next year but that's always at a premium price but I'm curious! And for x86 (M5 is ARM) I think this chip is the most powerful mobile chip with integrated graphics - its definitely stronger than Intel Core Ultra 9 285H

Strange brand…

I have seen a few other identical versions
XPlus Rival aka XRival 01
https://x-plus.store/products/xrival

I am assuming these are rebrands.

GMKTec EVO-X2 AI Mini PC is identical just a different case and $1799 for 96gb/2tb - all ports are identical so looks like internal for all 3 come from same OEM

Corsair has one now too:

Hp:

Beelink:

Nimo:

I haven't seen an ai max+ from minis forum or acemagic yet.

The bos looks like the best current deal but there are options now to shop around. I'm almost ready to pull the trigger.

I know there's a few but if you look at the port locations on front and back they are identical - so likely points to same motherboard supplier and all the suppliers are doing are putting on a case and a few of the cases are identical.

But agreed that there's more options now

Performance info for, surprisingly, the m4 (max) and 395 https://llm-tracker.info/GPU-Comparison

It seems to outclass it in every way except memory bandwidth. So it depends on your workload but they punching in the same class.

So I bought one directly from this company on Alibaba for $1250 128 gb with 2tb ssd shipped delivered door-to-door Dhl they originally tried to charge me 1500 and I negotiated with them their quantity of 100 unit price was 1190 each delivered so I think that's probably somewhere around 5% markup of their actual cost. They probably have about $1100 in these. All of them are essentially the same coming out of the same OEM. The only difference is ethernet ports the ones that have the 10 GB ports you can expect to pay about $100 more for. I would've preferred the B link but to be honest it's not worth $750 more. It's a good device but the full price of these needs to be 1500 tops with 128 GB of RAM. The performance is good doesn't come close to my main desktop with dual RTX 5090s. But for the price it's better than the Mac studio M4 that I replaced with it beats it in every category

I'm tempted but not ready to bite yet, main use would be to run local LLM, but the memory bandwidth is the smallest compared to Mac M4 Pro and Nvidia DGX Spark, even Mac M2 Ultra has 2.5x the memory bandwidth. Unfortunately AFAIK only up to 96GB of the unified memory can be used for the GPU, so you're probably looking at max 70b parameter LLM. ROCm is also still a work in progress. The biggest selling point is the price. For gaming it is more than capable however.

I'm tempted too... why only 70b due to the memory bandwidth?

edit: oh I see. memory bandwidth theoretical is 256

Strix Halo uses a 256-bit memory bus paired with LPDDR5X memory, providing up to 256-275GB/s of bandwidth. This is a significant step up over prior AMD laptop chips but is still narrower than Apple's M4 Max and Ultra

The memory in Apple M4 is in the same package not just soldered on next to it, less distance to travel, less latency more data that flows essentially. But the manufacturing is a lot more expensive, and the chip is more focused. AMD is being more of a generalist. M4 is faster but much more expensive to manufacture.
