I've looked into this a few times but I am always deterred by the pricing. Even for a bumper-pull you end up spending $200+/night after all their fees, cleaning etc. And if you want an RV you can drive, you're looking at $300+/night

For those prices I'd rather stay at a hotel near my destination.

Right, agree on all counts.

The one spot where it works best (like owning an RV in general) is when you can get a campsite really close to your destination, which can save a lot of driving and time -- especially in a National Park. But then you also have delivery fees if the owner will even do it, and if the park even allows it.

Unfortunately, those situations usually requires 6+ months of planning.

I'd rented a a van from Outdoorsy as well as an rv from an rv company and also found the prices to be comparable to a hotel stay. However, we wanted to experience vanlife, and visiting a national park this way was an unforgettable experience for us. Sure, camping is cheaper, and hotels more comfortable, but IMO this way is unique and pretty cool if that's what you're into.

2X on the cost. I've rented a travel trailer direct from an owner for my (older) kids to sit next to our trailer at an upscale RV resort last year. Even not paying the ridiculous fees of the rental company, the cleaning fees price it out of range unless you rent for a couple weeks or more. Plus these rental trailers get trashed over time. Would do a local hotel next time. Just my two cents.

I had bad experience with RVShare, I would stay away from this company. Price seemed OK before rent. They added bunch of fees when I returned it. It's my bad I didn't take a good look at the reservation disclosure.
