I actually think this is a better buy than the newer BE98U Pro that replaces this if you don't NEED WiFi 7 over 6E, because in the US, only the Pro model is available meaning 1 5GHz and 2 6GHz bands. This AXE16000 has 2 5GHz and 1 6GHz which is still far more usable.
I tried this recently and returned it because my old AX82U performed better in my house. The AX82U didn't have quite the range this router did, but its 5ghz speeds were noticeably better. I was surprised.

Was that your only node in the mesh? Did you have a dedicated back haul?
Lol, not sure if you are serious or not but no.... 2028 late is probably when we will even see maybe one Wifi 8 device for Xmas. So dont expect Wifi 8 gear till 2029 in mass. Also the new push on Wifi 8 is ultra reliability where they try to improve all aspects of wifi by 25% on the minimum across the board, so there is no more focus on bandwidth or raw speed, if you were curious.
I have 2x of the GT-AX11000 pro of this in an AI Mesh with wired Moca 2.5 backhaul that you can get for $250 any day on Amazon. They cover my ~4000 sqft house with all kinds of obstacles and my main pc gets the full 1.2 GB/s from Xfinity over wifi through 2 walls and about 30 feet of distance. My concern with this model and others like it is that in certain jurisdictions it will disable the 6E 160hz band automatically without telling you do to FCC regulations governing interference if it detects any foreign 160hz signals. My next door neighbor is a state police officer and has something in his unmarked patrol car that caused this to happen regularly with my Alien router from Ubiquiti that had 6E that caused me to get rid of it.
Lots of things to take into consideration for individual circumstances but the $250 model was perfect for my use case.
