Most online reviews and teardowns (from LaptopMania and LON.TV) are for the previous 2024 model (AG15-31P-3947, i3-N305 Alder Lake-N, codename Twix_ADN) that has soldered RAM (and the corresponding Lifecycle Extension Guide does show soldered. I was expecting that Acer would just keep the same motherboard for these low-end models (and upgradability isn't a priority for the demographic that buys these cheap laptops). Also the old model has (1) USB-C port and (1) coax power jack (and coax AC adapter) whereas this model has (2) USB-C ports for power.
Also, this laptop was $250 during Prime Days in July. Good deal for a new laptop (even though these N-series CPUs aren't my cup of cake).

Seems similarly specced.. n305 is just a little below the n355 on the model here.
I prefer lenovo for build quality tho
