I bought the f50 43" for my garage about a month ago and it it was better than the old 720p 32" I was using for years. It is plenty bright for the space even with the 6 led shop lights I have. The menu navigation is a bit laggy/clunky overall I'm happy with it for the $160 I paid.

I bought the f30 series 43' for $100 but ended up returning it due to the blacks not being deep for my room with all the light in it. It was just too laggy and would rather wait for better deal to happen in the future.

Would the menu lag issues other posters bring up be solved by plugging in a Chromecast/alternative HDMI streaming device?

Only the built in tv OS is laggy you should be fine using any streaming stick/Chromecast

Honestly I was surprised with how well the f50 does for the amount of light I have that's the only reason I didn't get the f30 because the reviews said that it didn't do well in bright rooms
