Price shows as $28.04 after 15% S&S discount in product page. However when I go to check out, the price suddenly becomes $32.99 with only a 5% discount, for a total of $31.97. Anyone know why I'm not getting the 15% S&S discount on the checkout page?

Apparently paid $38 last time for this in March 2024. Finally almost out. Been good in ninja creamis. Grabbed another, thanks.

Interesting, does not appear to contain whey concentrate (Isolate and casein blend). Nice for us who don't do well with concentrate.

$28.04 here

Check out your "First delivery" date right above the Subscribe button. Make sure it's when your next monthly subscription will be delivered - sometimes it defaults it to the "get it sooner" option (at least for me).

Check your delivery date/schedule. You may have to change the delivery schedule. I think Amazon made some stealth changes to the S&S defaults because I used to be able to buy things and it would automatically default to my selected monthly day. Now I have to manually change nearly every order because S&S doesn't default to that day anymore.

Yes, I've noticed this too! It used to be that almost every S&S was set to automatically deliver on the same day, so it was easy to hit the 15% discount. Now I get these random dates assigned to me where I might have 12 products delivered on a Friday, and randomly a 13th item delivered on that Sunday with only the 5% discount. What's really annoying is that I don't even have the option to change the delivery date to the same date as all the other items. I just have the option of some random date in the future or tomorrow.

EDIT: Just tried it again, and on the product page, it says first delivery will be 8/31 with 15% savings. When I click "Checkout" it brings me to the checkout page with a delivery date of 8/17 and only 5% savings and no option of changing that date.

What I've found is to select the delivery schedule to 3 months on the product page and then when checking out, change it to one month.

Thanks for the tip. I tried this and no luck. It didn't change the price or delivery date from 8/17.

Casein is actually more expensive than whey and would be a plus. Some people find it digests easier or prefer the slower digestion than whey for taking at night or at times that are not immediately post-workout. If something has casein in it, it's usually more of a premium product.

Also Quest generally has some of the lowest calories per gram protein. It's 10 calories lower than Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey, 20 calories lower than Levels for 24g protein. It's 77% protein by weight which is the same as all the other leading brands like ON.

Quest is also good because it's fat free which probably results in the lower calories than other brands. I'm guessing the silicon dioxide is probably to disperse the powder and improve mixability because I find that it actually mixes completely smooth without a shaker ball whereas my ON clumps slightly even with a ball and very vigorous shaking.

This is sucralose and stevia. Generally you see:
  • Stevia and monkfruit (most premium)
  • Stevia only (premium but tastes bad to a lot of people)
  • Some combination of stevia, monkfruit, ace-k, sucralose (tastes pretty good but some people will complain about sucralose)
  • Sucralose and ace-k (still tastes pretty good but some people will complain that it's artificial and not "clean")
  • Others i.e. aspartame and ace-k, only sucralose, only (cheapest, lowest-tier brands)
This is a pretty middle to upper-middle brand in terms of quality. It's priced 3% higher per gram protein than the Costco deal for Levels but 15% less calories per serving and has a blend of casein and whey if that's something that is advantageous to you. Very cheap for a blend that includes 40% casein and it's micellar casein which mixes well and is absorbed and digested well.

Great review and insight here. I've found that Quest is unique for having casein protein. I like to have this at night before bad since it's slower digesting. I've also found that their powders blends very well in just plain water, and the taste (like most of their products for me) is great. The cinnamon crunch flavor is my favorite.

If you want to eat and pound sand for a premium go for it. Just like Taco Bell "meat" is full of sand aka silicone dioxide.

I prefer to buy brands with no filler, bad sugar substitutes for the gut floral, and most of all, no literal sand in your stomach. and if I want casein I'll buy it separately and mix it whenever needed

It's good to be aware what we put in our bodies
