Thanks, OP - finally snagged a 5080. I've been waiting awhile (as have we all?) and was eyeing the PNY 5080 deal (Best Buy) previously, but the two PNY items I owned (an older GPU and m.2 SSD) from a few years ago both failed after the warranty period. I know it's anecdotal and probably bad luck, but I never purchased a PNY item since.

Seeing this, a Founder's Edition and sold by AAFES no less - thanks again. Slickdeals is the best (well, at least until I tell the wife what I did 😆)!

NVIDIA website had 5080FE at MSRP last week I think just for 1 day and I was able to get one. Slick deal didn't show the deal.

How do you find the cards on the site? The search function is next to useless ☹️

Single keywords only. The Exchange doesn't maintain a huge inventory, so if very little (or nothing) comes up in a search, that's indicative of the true inventory situation and not the search function's incompetence. 😉 Though I agree, the functionality is a far cry from other retailer websites.

if you need a monster GPU now, this deal is hard to beat I think. Kinda stinks it is only 16GB given some games run with 4k textures are hitting that limit now, but the 32GB 5090 at $2000 is crazy, so this is the best I think you can get for <$1k (by $1 ). That said, I have read rumors that 6000 series are already in production with a potential early release at the end of 2025. It is supposed to be a new architecture so the performance jump should be significant. But... given NVidia is basically printing money with their datacenter AI products using basically the same tech, the days of having gaming GPUs in the quantities that meet demand (especially for new releases) are long gone .

I am surprised they haven't just dumped the gaming market altogether... perhaps they were considering it and figured they would charge $2k for their TOTL card, $1k for the next one down to see if the market would bear those prices and make it worth it... and they definitely got their answer! Given that the 5000 series have been basically OOS for their entire existence at these nutty prices, I am afraid what they will try with the 6000 series. So maybe getting a 5080 for $1k is actually a bargain. I tried finding a 4090 recently (because of the VRAM) and they are difficult to find new for prices not ridiculous, so even the "buy an older gen card" strategy doesn't really work anymore .

6000 series? uh............ that's probably not coming out until 2027.

what you're thinking of is 5000 super series by the end of this year.

OOPS, you're right, I have been purposefully not following too closely because I am trying NOT to get anything as my 3000 series cards are OK for now for me. When the BB deal for the 5080 was posted a bit ago I did some fast research as I knew it would go fast, and it looks like I confused things. More specifically, the 6000 RTX PRO series launched last month (and I found older articles talking about it's Q3 2025 release), but that is a whole different $9000 work station beast... and also saw the rumors of the 5000 Supers releasing soon, which I also mixed up with discussions about 6000 series new architecture. My bad.

Slick deals misses a lot. Many good deal hunters are in Reddit threads and such.

Slickdeals missed all kohls having 50% off clearence for two days.

I got a half dozen beats pills for $35 each as gifts for the next few years.

What game, without user made mods, is hitting 16gn vram with textures?

And if it's some unoptimized pos like Alan Wake 2 or something does it count?

Is this the best option, or should I wait for the 6000? I am currently with 3090, but I plan to buy BF6 and a 32-inch OLED.
