Anyone have this model? Im sure the app experience is close to useless and requires a secondary device to not be frustrated but if the pq is decent and no sound issues I wonder if this is worth it for a bedroom. Amount of reviews stating they received broken tvs though is a bit concerning.

And yet, absolutely NO way to buy a "non-smart" TV. No way to buy a device that doesn't need internet activation, agreeing to an EULA with binding arbitration, etc.

No...no you really can't anymore.

Even digital signage TVs are requiring internet activation & EULA acceptance, which for some clients is a massive "heck no we're not putting that onto an externally-facing network - it's a TeeVee for cryin' out loud".

Remember, that free trial of "Disney Plus" means you're no longer allowed to sue Disney forever, in case you have an allergic reaction at one of their restaurants due to mis-labeled food. Or something worse.

Now you know why so many companies are forcing you to accept "free trials" whenever you buy something (just look at your cart on BestBuy -- no less than half a dozen get added every time).

I have the $218 model - decent picture, have to use the Vizio app just to get it working - kinda' dim though, even at max brightness for my location / windows - trying a Hisense QD7 to compare (+$110)

To me the Vizio Quantum QLED models have a much better picture for not much more money. Just bought the 65" Quantum model....

Annoyed that it required to create a Vizio account for setup...didn't use the app, just created a login online via the QR code. Still tweaking the picture as bright reds and yellows look a little over saturated....but still a good pic for the price and great viewing angles (the Quantum has an IPS screen).

It does have a setting that you can start the TV to an HDMi source bypassing the Vizio app/home screen entirely (i.e. like a "dumb" TV). The tuner picked up way more channels via an antenna compared to the Samsung it replaced.

Overall, can't complain. Don't know why anyone would by the V series to save just a few bucks though and get an inferior picture (in my opinion).
