I grabbed one of these for $179 this week. Haven't taken it out of the box yet but I'm on the fence with whether it's worth switching to a battery powered string trimmer since I already have a gas trimmer.

I think they are planning to invest more into quik-lok ecosystem. They already have a gen2 power head and attachments. My guess is the next iteration would be a dual battery power head.

If this is the same as the m18 dual 16ah trimmer that was on sale with batteries for $299,
I love this monster.

Hopefully. This would be the most logical iteration.

My current gas trimmer is about 10 years old and a ton of use on it. When I came across this deal, I didn't want to pass it up. I already have plenty of M18 batteries.

Pretty much exactly my reasoning.

If you want to rival gas, stick with the two dual battery model

Once you give this a try you'll forget all about your gas trimmer.
