8gb is not great sure.
But this is one of the smallest dual fan cards you can find, which makes it useful for SFF builders. IF you have the money go for the 16 gb one though.

Yeah, not 16GB, but 8GB XT over 8GB non-XT (oem-only, and specs cut further).

I missed out on it last time, going to snag this to upgrade my 1060 6g I am still using just fine and look for an upgrade for my 2600x next (would like a 5600, but a 5500 would be an improvement for me).

At the standard $50 difference between MSRP, there's no question that you should go for the 16GB version. For many people on a tight budget a $100 savings makes this a lot more attractive.

Yeah. I'm not a fan of the new 8gb cards for this generation but at this price it's hard to argue with. Pcpartpicker has the cheapest 16gb card at $370 which is almost a 50% premium just for 8 more gbs of ram. No more compute units or higher clock speed. No additional hdmi/displayport ports. Just 8 more gb of ram. At those price points it's almost hard to recommend the 16gb card.

Exactly, plus when people show the 8gb cards struggling, it's usually with fairly high settings on very demanding games, this card is great for the right use case. And yes, the 16gb would be great for future proofing, but a 50% price delta for only an increase in RAM is very difficult to justify.

I wish there was a way to filter out Microcenter in store only deals. Might as well post Slickdeals for Chinese residents only. Majority of the population has no access to these deals.
