Seems to be the best deal on this much ram and hd space on either the m3 or m4.

interesting note though this has 8 core cpu 10 core gpu, while the 16gb m4 has a 10core cpu and 8 core gpu.

i pricematched on BB since BH has a pretty crap return policy

Yeah, I think so. You'll notice 24GB of ram and 512GB of storage more than M3->M4.

You will not notice any difference between the 16 and 25 gigs of ram, or the M3 to M4. You will notice when you run out of hard drive space with 256gb of storage.

Extra RAM can be useful depending on your use case. I have to use Excel on my MacBook and many of my worksheets have very large datasets (half a million to million rows of data). That's when extra RAM becomes essential. Native Apple applications are better at memory management. However, non-native applications may not be.

Got the 256gb and struggled to migrate from existing Mac with 512gb. 256 is so little for even basic use.
