All I can tell you honestly is I have slept on these many times... AND I am a hot sleeper... these sheets ALWAYS feel crisp and cool throughout the night.

The thread count on these is entirely too high if you like to sleep cool. A higher thread count really works against you because the weave is much tighter. There's really no benefit to having a thread count this high.

'Slick'? As in a good way or actually slippery? I have never felt they were slippery. Pure perfect Pima cotton, not sateen.

They were slippery to me. I know they're pima cotton.

Yes the too high thread count makes it less breathable. Also to accommodate the high thread count the threads are thinner.

Interesting they struck you as slippery... after multiple washes or first time use? I have just never experienced that with these.

Sateen is a fabric weave style, not a fabric material. Completely possible to have 100% cotton sateen sheets (which can give a very smooth feeling for better or for worse depending on preference)

these are great sheets. Very durable and comfortable. I sleep hot and haven't had any issues.
