IMO if you're using this for work (which I assume most will be doing), 60hz is fine for a monitor.

hence why 60Hz is acceptable for TV's
and monitors that are primarily for productivity...like this one.

I would love 120hz, speakers, IPS, and mini LED but am not getting close for $300.

This is a good deal for the actual hardware you are getting.

Uuuuhhhhh... What do you think they edit those "TV shows" and "movies" on?! There are Canon 60 Hz monitors that sell for more than the cost of a car. Horses for courses. That is a weird post, sir.
movies/tv are not in 60fps... lol what is this logic

Your comment is more wrong than it is right. Almost all programming available is broadcast in 60fps. A lot of movies are 24fps when played on disc.

VA is fine, perhaps even preferable, for curved displays as the limited viewing angle is partially rendered moot by the fact that it is curved. Depends on what you are using it for more than anything.

modern gaming consoles and computers are capable of running at higher refresh rates. All mainstream TV and movies run and stream at 60Hz, that's why that refresh rate is better for televisions.
Like seeing the difference between using a 120Hz phone and a 60Hz one. The smoothness feels like a generational leap in performance.
what a bunch of malarkey...

Has anyone used the KVM capabilities on the samsungs? Do they have keyboard shortcuts to toggle screens between two computers?

Hi
been using a 32" monitor in rotating portrait/landscape modes for years. Wanted something bigger, but the "widescreen" format precludes portrait mode and it just seems .. odd. How big do regular 16:9 monitors go?
Well, there is only one: the new for 2025 Samsung 37" S70D and upgrade S80UD. These are regularly $599+ but the down-list model is most places discounted to $429 this week. But for me, the upgrade model (S80UD) is currently half price ($299) at Samsung itself - if you qualify for the Military/Veteran program, First Responder, Educator, EPP, and etc discount programs. Must log in or register to see what you qualify for.

37" ViewFinity S8 (S80UD) 16:9 4K UHD HDR10 High Resolution Monitor with USB-C and Ergonomic Stand (3,840 x 2,160)

Only potential downside is 5ms/60MHz refresh rate - but I have not seen any issue so far in games.

Comparison to 40" widescreen:
MSI 401QR: screen 36.5 x 15.25, max res 3440 x 1440, weight 17.64 lbs, 1 ms response @155 rate

Samsung 37" S8: screen 32 x 18, max res 3840 x 2160, weight 5.9 lbs, 5ms response @60 rate
