Eufy is the best all-around security camera system that does NOT require a subscription to use ALL the features their products have built in. E340 is their best dual-camera doorbell camera that can use battery or be hardwired, and it can record locally or to a HomeBase3 via WiFi. I have 8 various cameras of theirs and they are inexpensive and have more features than most subscription-only brands, but they do occasionally need to be reset maybe once a month because they just stop working randomly. That inconvenience is a small price to pay though for never needing to pay a monthly subscription which equates to hundreds of dollars a year just to use all the features of the cameras I already own.

I wish they made one with memory card slot so you can choose if want to pay subscription with lots of features or just see footage in the storage card. I returned one cuz the video is not instantaneous when you open the app, so it defeats the purpose in my opinion.

Per reddit the Sync Module 2 will use local USB storage without a subscription, but the one included with this deal (sync module core) does not.

I wish they made one with memory card slot so you can choose if want to pay subscription with lots of features or just see footage in the storage card. I returned one cuz the video is not instantaneous when you open the app, so it defeats the purpose in my opinion.

I use over 10 modules and 44 individual cameras on 5 different networks. I don't get lag. I love the sync 2 module. Each one has a 128gbUSB drive on it.

I wonder if this will work under a Blink OG (legacy) account, with the free cloud subscription? I have the original sync module and one XT2 camera, would add it to that. I have read pros and cons on whether it will continue to work (clips saved to cloud) after the 30-day trial.

These are a good budget pick for someone looking to record at their doorbell. These are not a good pick if you'd instantaneous video as there is just too much of a delay imo. I moved from the previous model to a Tapo D225 doorbell and it's been night and day in terms of response and overall features. Accessing and scrubbing the SD on these Blink sync modules was always such a pain.

I have the previous model along with the sync module. No, you do not need a subscription to record and watch those clips. You can also view live at your door but you can not record those live viewings without a subscription. Your wifi will determine your success. My door is near my router so I have no issues. If there is a power blimp I do have to unpluh and replug in the sync module so don't tuck it away to much (I do get a notification that it's not connected). This is a cheap way to see who is at your door, but do not confuse this with security. Wifi jammers or many other things prevent this from be security level. I've been happy with it overall though the screw holes don't line up with my existing doorbell so that sucks. I just have one screw in lol. Amazon has angled mounting options for cheap.

I have a bunch of xt2 cameras, and the free cloud subscription is tied to the device, not the acount... so when you add this to your system, you can only store the video recording to a usb drive using a sync module that has an included usb port, or pay for thier online service.

Grandfathered accounts are allowed to have up to 5 Sync Modules and each Sync Module has 2 hours of free online storage which are shared by every device connected to the Sync Module. It's better to add the Sync Module Core to your account so that each of your devices has 2 hours of online storage
