eh but is the solar on a smaller screen even worth it then say the instinct 2? the solar panel area is already so small to begin with this seems like a gimmick; you'd have to literally expose the entire watch all day to even remotely charge up a bit

Then buy non solar…. it's not intended to be primary charge more of a trickle charge if you just so happen to be outdoors when you'll likely be using GPS which will drain the battery

I worked with someone that has the full-size instinct 2 solar. He said at the height of summer he gets a few more days between charges. A bit of a difference but not much. Reviews say the solar screen has more glare than the standard version of that matters. Amazon has the full size non solar for this same price new as well.

It might be worth it to someone who spends a minimum of 3 hours outside every day - golfing, playing tennis, surfing, working in construction, landscaping, lifeguard or some other outdoor job, etc. and doesn't want to have to buy a new watch for at least 3-5 years. Per the specs: "Vastly extended battery life through solar charging; unlimited battery life in smartwatch mode (assuming all-day wear with 3 hours per day outside in 50,000 lux conditions)."

Not sure where the Walmart description came from, here's Garmins battery description from the website:"GET MORE BATTERY OUT OF LIFEGo longer than ever with solar charging1 that gives you the potential for unlimited battery life in battery saver mode and up to 51 days in smartwatch mode. Plus, power manager lets you extend battery life by controlling what settings and sensors draw power"I have one, I just like 3 weeks of battery. I just charge it when I shower after a hard run and never think about it.
