if you have Bank of America deals, you can click the lenovo link and get it for $1525 (pre-tax).. then if you have Amex, check for a deal there too.. i have one for spend 750 and get 75 back.. which will bring this down to about 1450

I've never purchased a pre-built but I wouldn't disparage anyone that bought one. It may seem simple to someone who has built a pc before but after helping multiple friends build its easy to do it wrong. Also having a warranty from one vendor as opposed to one for every component, which you also will have to figure out which one failed makes a lot of sense to me.

Thanks , I have both and was able to replicate it. Just thinking it over this vs the Dell Alienware with 5080 but Intel chip (which is a bummer) .Mainly used for gaming so completely torn between these.

I was able to split two Amex cards using the $75 off $750 offer. So basically $150 off

$1525 - $150 = $1375 - 2% cash back + tax ($95) not counting $91 lenovo rewards, whatever that is.

The price is nice for the specs, but that case is bad for temps with only 2 intake fans at the bottom. A 7800x3d + 5070 in the same case runs between 71-78C (https://youtu.be/jd3gMSCCGIw?si=A...4R1D&t=442), and a 5070 Ti would run even hotter.

This is impressive, thanks for sharing the PCPP list! I'm no expert at all and just curious, which components do you worry would be 'OEM junk' - memory, storage, power supply, MB right? I already have a a micro-ATX build that I'm looking to upgrade and your list looks perfect, though I might like to go with a water-cooled kit.

Biggest issue with prebuilts are normally PSU, motherboard and RAM (in that order). If I'm building a nearly 2k system I'm getting a quality PSU for it, and with this it's almost certainly bottom of the barrel.

You could certainly build with even less over the top components. You don't need a platinum PSU and 64gb of ram. I'm betting if you just wanted to match the Legion, you could be closer to $1500.

Thing is, most people who buy pre-builts don't care about saving $1-200. Most of the time whatever comes in these things is good enough quality to not break within 5 years, which is when most people upgrade. So buying specific parts doesn't really matter to those people either.
