The 1TB model is definitely a solid choice. 512GB is better than the usual 256GB models that are often here but even that can be too little for many people. This machine will last a long.

I don't see the point of a 16gb pro model in 2025. I need to manage open programs to stay under 16gb when doing pro work and it's getting annoying.more annoying is SD new app hitting enter submits comment! If 16gb is enough for you, 15" MacBook Air is A LOT lighter, easier to move around with and cheaper.

it's become very difficult writing posts here on SD since they updated the app. The keyboards normal 'enter' button on Android devices triggers submit instead of new line which is very annoying and frustrates to even write anything on SD.

MBPs do not come with 256, only MBAs

Good deal if you want new. Otherwise I literally just picked up a 14" MBP w/ M4 Pro (vs M4), 24GB ram and 512gb used off of marketplace for $1350 (no tax :p) just this weekend.

Cheaper, yes. Of course. But "A LOT lighter"?

Per Apple:

MBA M4 15" - 3.3 lbs

MBP M4 14" - 3.4 lbs

There's a bit of rounding there so the difference is really more along the lines of 1.5oz (40g). The significant difference would be between the 14" MBP and the 13" MBA (2.7 lbs).

I've got both Infront of me right now and I assure you the difference in thickness and weight feel more significant than those numbers seem to indicate. I also really like the passive cooling on the MBA.

Too bad you can't select another language keyboard like you can on Apple's site...
