ebay has an IdeaPad with a Snapdragon X Plus processor, same RAM, 1tb drive, and an OLED touchscreen for the same price. Do I want the OLED and snapdragon, or is the ryzen ai processor worth the tradeoff?https://ebay.us/m/DfrBYG

Any decent laptop deals with a decent screen in sub $800 price range? Thanks.
Depends on your use case.
Costco had an Asus Vivobook for 900.
Sub 800 is pretty hard to get a good screen if you want new. There are bunch of deals at BestBuy open box or Acer recert on ebay.

What so awful about the screen?
The color accuracy. Most of these laptops have 45% or 62.5% sRGB. So colors look off. If you're only using it for text/basic stuff it's fine.

If you have been spoiled by OLED screens, its tough to use faded out screens. Personal preference. HP has been putting out really good specs on laptops with shit screens. Hence my comment.

I'm in the market for a new laptop. What would you consider specs for a decent screen for laptop prices $550-800 range? Thanks.

If you're okay with a non-Windows laptop, the MacBook Air has better quality/performance for the money, in my experience.

Thanks. I do use word, excel, etc. Earlier, I used to find doing that on Mac OS clunky. Haven't worked on one in years, maybe they made it smoother.

Staples has in store purchase offer for $10 worth of points for every $50 purchase.
A $800 purchase means 16 X $10 worth of points.

Yes, this is an older version of the IdeaPad Slim, so 4 lbs is consider slim back then...
It can't be that old, I'm pretty sure this processor was just released in January of this year.

I guess idk, I've had pretty good luck with refurbished laptops... They come with a warranty for a year, and 9/10 times I have ran SSD power-on hour software on them, they show that they have been on for less than 24 hours total...

I'm gonna pull the trigger on this as I think I can get an addtl 30% in Cash Back on Cap One.
YMMV on this but I have had luck with this several times.

With Capital One Shopping Rewards I can usually get a MUCH larger % back discount if I put an item in my cart one day, leave it there and just go away from the site. Case in point Lenovo. Yesterday my cash back was 1%, wonderful... and I see this deal. So I add the PC to my cart and close out the browser and let the economic engine of the internet do it's "magic". Get an email "Huge Sale at Lenovo" w/ link for 30% cash back. It's not always 30% and its not always the next day so YMMV is there ( along with exclusions, attempted denials etc). They say this will work with any credit card but I'm not sure I believe that and always complete a cap one shopping transaction with my cap one credit card.

You must be patient for this to work and timing will sometimes work against you with timed sales. But this is slickdeals, not immediatedeals.

But I'm about to get this for $315 at the end of the day...
