I am looking to get a monitor for photography and video edit, it seems like this monitor is too tall, the wide screen is preferred right?

The monitor itself is 29" tall, the stand adds the rest of the height.

Samsung casually sends damaged or dead monitors to customers. Returns are super hassle and getting a refund is at least a month long process with several contacts with customer care. Basically you'll at least lose a week of your life if you happen to have to return the item.
