Tiagra for 1500? Yikes. I guess you pay for the name.

throw in at least a 105 for this price. Tiagra is laughable.

Agreed, this would be deal at $800. Overpriced for the groupset.

It think your idea of bike pricing is out of touch. Bikes with hydraulic tiagra are usually around 1200-1300. On top of that, this is a carbon frame so $1500 is a pretty good price

Once upon a time this was the default price for a carbon frame with Tiagra and alloy wheels. That way you can wait for the clearance price of $1250-1300ish.

Those were the days...... There isn't really bundle discounts anymore on a complete bike. You're practically paying for everything as if it's a pick n part build PC.

I have a variant of this bike. 48cm is about as small as adult bikes get. This is for someone around five feet tall. Second, this is an endurance road bike. It's not meant for flat out speed but rather for comfort on long rides. But it's still fairly fast and not as cushy as something like a beach cruiser. Third, Tiagra is an older groupset (which refers to the drivetrain and brakes), but it's still excellent and low maintenance. It is basically the entry level of Shimano's higher end groupsets. Lastly, these later model Synapses are SmartSense compatible, which is Cannondale's integrated electronics system (for lights and rear radar). SmartSense was sort of a dud on launch but I have it on mine and don't entirely hate it. It adds weight and cost and another thing to break, but one battery for everything with internally routed cables is convenient.

or you can go back years and get a used Trek road bike with 105 components 9 speed for about 200. it saved me thousands, and no CRACKING carbon frames to worry about.
i know, somebody needs to buy these high end bikes, might as well be you. groan, but not me.
now the issue is what to do with the 1300 extra dollars in my wallet? should i buy 6 more used Treks with 105 components and aluminum frames? the one i have seems to last forever, so maybe i can pay my electric bill instead.
please help me. thanks.

that, exactly, I'd love non-carbon with 105 groupset

but are there high end used bikes online somewhere these day other than ebay

I figure a year old bike is going to be half the price of any new bike even on clearance

the problem is trust
