Yea I got a similar spec but with 5080 for roughly 2000 after discounts and cashback. The 5090 version would've been roughly 400 more. The Lenovo might be slightly better based on reviews but definitely better deals with HP lately.

How is this on thermals? Does it disappate heat reasonably well, or does it thermal throttle the hell out of all that power inside the chassis?

You can check out this video comparing Lenovo Legion Pro 7i to HP Omen Max: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dt-lChE9Iaw

I haven't heard anyone report problems with the Legion and thermal throttling. In comparison I've heard some people report throttling of the HP Omen Max on the CPU in particular. JustJosh rated the Legion 4 on thermals vs the HP Omen which was awarded a 3 (out of 5).

Personally I bought the HP Omen Max though for rear ports and because in recent sales it was incredibly low priced (I got an OLED 5080 for just $1800). Strictly in terms of thermals and performance I think the Legion is superior.

Do not buy a legion. Had 2 both motherboards burnt out before 2 years. Super common issue.
