Thanks op. Was tempted until I noticed thats about the going rate on ebay. Hopefully they drop it some more.

This appears to be the Pro 7, not the 7+, and therefore the SSD is not upgradeable. 8gb ram is OK for basic use--I'm looking to upgrade an old Windows tablet that's sitting at 4GB.

Have a survey pro7+ 8gb on my lap by chance, it's great no issues with the ram, I use Microsoft edge for low ram use just in case, but have been happy, slim pen 2 + surface Duo 2. HardDrive is upgradable. Yeah 8gb isn't future proof but I don't have any issue having 20+ tabs open.

Dumb question. Would it come with ms office or have to purchase separately.

More than likely, one would have to purchase or subscribe to Office. The asset is not new; therefore, it won't come with all the manufacturer's perks.

No, it's Microsoft. They charge EXTRA for everything -- this is a laptop/pen tablet, and they are charging extra for both the keyboard and pen input device.

Apple gives you their Office suite for free. There's always free opensource office suites. But MS Office? Pony up a monthly subscription cost!

Cheap laptops cost a lot in the long run.
apple gives free office suite? ms or "theirs"?

Their own Apple office suite -- Pages, Numbers, and Keynote. Which if you're doing personal stuff, it's totally fine. It'll bite you though if you try to use it for business (sometimes cross-compatibility issues with MS Office)....and it can bite you if you have a persnickety college professor who wants things done "exactly THEIR way".

Absolutely. I wouldn't get it if you're going to be working on it or gaming but for movies and internet it's very good

I bought one of these when they were new. It served me well for years and years. Lately it's been glitchy with random things. But it was SOLID the whole time up until lately.
